Another month, another free pattern. Yay! :) This month I wanted to offer a very easy and quick pattern that even sewing beginners can make. I hope you will like it. The pattern pieces are suitable for American Girl and Wellie Wisher dolls but you can, of course, adjust them to suit your doll. I am still working on the beginner sewing series and will be adding new videos as I film and edit them and I will be working on a larger baby doll pattern soon. I am very excited for that. For the past weeks I have been working on a sewing series for beginners. I received a request on one of my videos to please explain certain techniques like top stitching, under stitching, seam allowance etc. and I thought I'd take the opportunity to make a sewing basics series that hopefully touches on every topic necessary to follow all of my patterns with ease and fun. The first 3 videos of the series are now out on YOUTUBE and I am working on more videos as we speak. They will be added one by one and if you have any requests for topics I could add, please let me know (theresa [at] samidolls [dot] com) I received a message from a viewer who is not on Facebook and was disappointed that I started uploading all my Freebooks in my Facebook Groups exclusively. She does not have any social media account and therefore has no access to them. If there are others in a similar situation and you would prefer for me to upload the patterns on a different platform, let me know. Freebie of the Month August 2016 and new unboxing videos

The FREEBIE OF THE MONTH for August 2016 is this lovely storage basket with dividers that fts inside the fabric basket from last month's free pattern. I really wanted a basket with dividers, so I can have several compartments for my sewing basket, and I came up with this little tutorial. You don't have to use it as thr fabric basket insert. I am sure it will also make a nice gift basket, toy basket etc. I hope you like it. If you have other pattern ideas or requests, let me know onFacebook or in the YouTube comments. The video tutorial for the storage basket is here and from now on all my free patterns will be available for download in the 'Files' section in the Sami Facebook group. You will have to send a join request and once you are in, you can browse the group and download the patterns. Kimono doll dress and video tutorials

Kimono inspired dress for Sami/Waldorf and American Girl dolls Do you remember the Kimono dress I made for myself a while ago? I received a request to make a doll pattern like it and now I am happy to announce that the pattern is available. It comes in all 6 Sami Doll sizes and the American Girl size and is available with a lined bodice or a bias bound hem. I always think I can just whip up a pattern and offer it soon after, but it always takes me longer than I expect :) Designing, test sewing, adjusting, test sewing again, filming, editing, taking pictures, editing the pictures, designing the cover, the thumbnails for the videos, writing descriptions, instructions etc. haha... you get the idea :) I hope you will like the pattern. It is a really fun and manageable project. As you may have noticed, my love for American Girl dolls is slowly taking over my life, so the pattern is available in this size as well, of course. I predict a few more unboxing videos in the future ;) I have a lot more exciting projects in the works. I hope you will be along for the ride. I also recently joined Snapchat. FREE pattern for July: Fabric Basket

Another month, another free pattern. I am really enjoying this little pattern series. So far we had 3 free patterns that all involve sewing supplies. I hope you enjoy it. Hot Air Balloon Pattern

I updated one of my favorite patterns and finally filmed a video tutorial for it too.

One of my biggest dreams in life is to experience a ride in a hot air balloon. I hope it will come true one day. Ever since I watched Pippi Longstocking as a child I had this dream. Now at least my (and your) dolls can have this marvellous experience :)   The pattern is available here. I also filmed and edited the video tutorials to go with it and it is now live on myYouTube channel. The June sewing contest is going ahead as well!! I was thinking of bringing out a new free pattern once a month or maybe once every 2 months and maybe we can do a sewing competition, where my viewers send a picture of their finished project to samisdolls@gmail.com with 'June Sewing Project' as the subject (for example) or to www.facebook.com/SamiDolls or in the Sami group on facebook and then I will post a compilation video to youtube and you can all pick a winner. The winner will then receive the prize of the month. This month it would be a meter of the gorgeous Farbenmix sewing ribbons.

The new 18" dress and bloomers pattern (that fits American Girl dolls) is out!

I just finished the PDF pattern and tutorial for the American Girl doll sized dress and bloomers pattern. It is very similar to my dress and bloomers pattern for Sami Dolls, but I changed a few things around and I am using different techniques to attach the elastic this time around. I also filmed and edited the video tutorials to go with it and they are now live on my YouTube channel.
